Under
the
leadership
of
physicist
Dr.
Alfredo
Gurrola,
physics
major
Lauren
Kasper
'20
spent
her
summer
at
Vanderbilt
University's
high
energy
lab,
where
she
assisted
in
research
aimed
at
detecting
a
never-before-seen
particle
tied
to
the
theory
of
dark
matter.
The caliber of Kasper's work resulted in an extension of her project participation which will continue throughout her senior year at 新澳門六合彩.
Kasper,
who
outlined
her
research
at
a
Vanderbilt
poster
session
in
August,
plans
to
present
again
at
the
(APS)
Conference
this
April
and
at
West
Virginia
University
in
May.
After completing her undergraduate studies, Kasper plans to continue her education with the goal of obtaining a Ph.D. in particle or nuclear physics. Ultimately, she would like to work in a national laboratory conducting cutting-edge research.
